Hiphop IS Music became established in 2004 by Braille “Braille” Winchester. The label was originally started as an outlet for Braille and his crew Lightheaded to release their own records. As they began touring the U.S. they realized there were many other artists who needed a new outlet. The music industry has changed so much over the last ten years. Labels are becoming less and less interested in taking risks with hiphop acts. The radio is filled with club songs and love songs. We aren’t necesarilly trying to change that, however - our music just doesn’t fit that mold. We are walking our own path, just being ourselves and attempting to make the best records we possibly can.

Braille says - “I literally just hand selected some of my favorite artists and partnered with them. I want to help these guys make the records of their dreams and share them with the world. No limitations to their creativity and no pressure to follow trends. Just music, strait from the heart.”
